Funding

There never seems to be enough money for transportation projects in California. However, transportation funds do appear to be increasingly more flexible - we've  witnessed more money available for roads, mass transit, bike lanes and paths, sidewalks, clean fuel programs, community planning and a host of other activities.  Familiarizing yourself with your local transportation agencies and their funding programs and deadlines is well worth the effort.

Learn more about the key transportation programs and players in California.

The Caltrans Office of Local Programs is home to a variety of local funding programs like Safe Routes to School, the pedestrian safety fund, federal highway safety grants and more.
