The Surface Transportation Policy Project is a
diverse, nationwide coalition working to ensure safer
communities and smarter transportation choices that enhance
the economy, improve public health, promote social equity, and
protect the environment.
STPP has
offices in Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area,
Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC.
STPP's
California field offices provide assistance to local
transportation agencies, elected officials and citizen groups
in order to help stakeholders take advantage of the new
opportunities available under the federal transportation bill
to link transportation to land use, housing, social equity,
livable communities and smart growth. STPP California is
helping to build regional and statewide coalitions, conduct
research and analysis, and identify funding sources for
innovative transportation projects and programs throughout the
state. Click here for
information on our national work.
STPP's
California work is made possible in part by funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation,
the James Irvine Foundation, the Richard & Rhoda Goldman Foundation, the
Ford Foundation, the McKnight Foundation and the San Francisco Foundation.
